Address and parking

Gateway Casinos Thunder Bay has free parking on site and one address: 50 Cumberland St. South, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 5L4. Measured as a straight line, that door is 2.8 km from the Thunder Bay Expressway, and the expressway carries highways 11 and 17. Roads bend, so the actual route is longer than that line.

Coming without a car? In a straight line, Thunder Bay International Airport lies 10 km southwest of the casino. Neither a shuttle nor a transit stop appears on the casino's pages, so getting from the airport takes separate planning. A room for the night has to be reserved separately, since the casino offers no hotel of its own either.

What to carry to the door

Every visitor needs valid government-issued photo ID, and nobody under 19 gets in. Under Ontario law, no one younger than 19 may enter a gaming site, whether a casino or online, apart from staff who are working. What about visitors aged 21 or younger? They also need a second piece of identification that shows their name. So the wallet should hold two pieces of ID rather than one.

Some people cannot come in at all, whatever they carry. Being trespassed or self-excluded, either at Gateway Casinos Thunder Bay or at any Ontario gaming property, rules out a visit. A self-exclusion elsewhere in the province still applies at this door.

Access, cash and coffee

Customers with disabilities can access the casino, and on request it provides wheelchairs, communication supports and accessible formats. Calling 807-766-7900 ahead of time tells the casino what to prepare. Other questions before the trip go to that same number.

What about money on the floor? Cash can be withdrawn at the bank machines (ABMs) or changed at the currency exchange without stepping outside, and lottery is on hand too. Three drinks cost nothing, coffee, tea and fountain pop, and no other drink is free. Joining My Club Rewards costs nothing; the Guest Services desk sets up memberships once it sees valid ID. Members collect points at both table games and slot machines.
